Premiere Day at the Florida Dunnam Campus

Do you remember that senior year in high school when you made your first visit to a university campus and felt the excitement of what it would be like to be a full time college student? Do you remember when you received a call and you needed to prepare yourself for ministry, and you visited Asbury Theological Seminary for the first time? And here you are!

Premiere Day is a time when prospective students visit our campus. They meet professors and students. They build relationships with each other. They visit a class and participate in chapel. They learn what is expected to be an Asbury student. And they begin to feel a stirring in their hearts to prepare for greater ministry.

This week we had another successful Premiere Day with all eleven visitors applying for admissions! Isn’t this wonderful—not only will Asbury benefit, but this means more trained laborers in God’s Kingdom work.

We are pleased to have a strong Enrollment Management Team on our campus: Eric Currie, Emily Harris, and Liz Castro. Thank you to all those who assisted them: Jenny Newman by V-tel Financial Aid discussion; Dr. Perez, Dr. Mucherera, Dr. Sierra, Dr. Miller, Dr. Buchan, and Prof Patrick in the Faculty Q & A discussions; and Dr. Gober representing the administration. “The chapel service was great, reported Currie, “Dr. Perez preached her heart out and God spoke to
all the prospective and applied students.”

The next Premiere Day will be on April 10th. Why not give a name of a prospective student for Emily to contact about a visit on that day.

LAST CHANCE: THERE IS STILL TIME TO EXPERIENCE A CHRISTIAN ASHRAM!

What is an Ashram? It is a disciplined Christian experience held in a retreat setting for the purpose of deeper spiritual growth which makes God more real in daily living. This provides a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and a move toward the grace and presence of Jesus Christ. On Wednesday, March 21, 2012 Asbury Seminary Florida Dunnam Campus will be sponsoring a half-day Ashram experience at Canterbury Retreat Center. ALL members of the Asbury Seminary Community are invited to participate in this event, which is free of charge. Please make your reservations with Dr. Kandace Brooks for this event. You really don’t want to miss this opportunity!

OASIS DAY RETREAT WITH DR. STEVE HARPER

In cooperation with the Canterbury Retreat Center, Asbury Theological Seminary students are invited to attend a day-long retreat centered on Steve’s book Talking in the Dark on Monday, April 16 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. This may be a time and a theme that would be good for you and a friend (or small group) to experience together, so you can continue the conversation after the Oasis Day itself. Consider
inviting others to come with you.
This retreat is offered to Asbury Seminary students AT NO COST with funding through the Lilly Foundation. If you are interested in attending, please register with Dr. Kandace Brooks. Other members of your church who are not Asbury Seminary students may attend for a cost of $45, and should make reservations with Sue Grosso or 407-365-5571.
