EpCATS A BLESSING ON THE ORLANDO CAMPUS

Many thanks to EpCATS (Episcopal Community at Asbury Theological Seminary) for providing the Florida community with two rich and meaningful services in our chapel last week. On Tuesday we observed the lesser feast of Richard Allen, and Asbury Seminary student Phyllis Brown shared passionately about the first bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Thursday was a day to celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation and to hear from Bishop Hugo Pina-Lopez, who shared testimony of his ministry experience and God’s providence and provision in all circumstances.

The Episcopal community is a strong and vital part of Asbury Theological Seminary. This group meets for Morning and Evening Prayer every Tuesday and Thursday morning (8:30 a.m.) and evening (5:30 p.m.) in the prayer room, and all members of the Asbury Seminary community are welcome to participate. EpCATS Leadership is provided by Dr. Thomas Buchan and Father Bill Haugaard.

OASIS DAY RETREAT WITH DR. STEVE HARPER

In cooperation with the Canterbury Retreat Center, Asbury Theological Seminary students are invited to attend a day-long retreat centered on Steve’s book Talking in the Dark on Monday, April 16 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. This may be a time and a theme that would be good for you and a friend (or small group) to experience together, so you can continue the conversation after the Oasis Day itself. Consider inviting others to come with you. This retreat is offered to Asbury Seminary students AT NO COST with funding through the Lilly Foundation. If you are interested in attending, please register with Dr. Kandace Brooks. Other members of your church who are not Asbury Seminary students may attend for a cost of $45, and should make reservations with Sue Grosso or 407.365.5571.

Activities will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude by 3 p.m. We also invite you to join your guest for lunch with us that day.

Prospective students may register for the event online.
